Coronavirus - Influenza, Colds & Covid

The past couple of years has seen possibly the biggest upheaval in health and wealth the planet has seen in decades. Many have suffered and more have died as a result of this latest in a long line of Coronavirus's that have plagued humanity since time began. The problem with a coronavirus is that there is no known treatment to prevent catching it in the first place, as seen by the millions who have been jabbed several times who still catch the virus. The common cold is a coronavirus as are all cold and flu types. The reason for no real cure is that a coronavirus can mutate very quickly so short of taking a new vaccine every few days, there is no effective prevention of catching one of the many coronavirus's other than a healthy immune system.

Mrna vacines (genetic modification) to our bodies dna may be fine to treat a known stable disease though still in early days of trials, but to arm our body's dna against hundreds or even thousands of coronavirus variants is still an impossible feat without some very serious side effects, illnesses and deaths.

There has been much speculation and conspiracies about the covid jabs as its the first time genetic modification has been used in humans. As someone who understands the 'CRISPR' (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) technology used in the mrna jabs and why it was banned in human use for so long, I can safely debunk many of the outlandish claims made. However, some of the early claims originally labeled as 'conspiracy theories' by the powers that be, have since proved to be factual. There have been many documented serious side effects that have in some cases lead to death. Certain corporations would have us believe that such is collateral damage and a cheap price to pay to save others, even though the jab wont stop you catching covid.

But the biggest danger of using CRISPR technology which most of the covid jabs use, is the risk of cutting and splicing the dna of other cells within our body. The Cas9 enzyme CRISPR uses is supposed to slice and splice specific DNA sequences, which in this case is our immune system cells to recognise the covid virus variant and attack it. However the long standing concern is that when Cas9 is let loose it could wrongly cut and splice other genomes, giving rise to many bodily complications. Genetic engineering has been long used in agriculture with CRISPR leading the way in genetically engineered crops and used correctly with many more trials, could be a life saver for many serious or terminal illnesses. But its use in preventing one catching a Coronavirus variant is virtually nil, though may possibly lessen the effects sometimes. Even wearing a mask offers little protection as virus particles are incredibly small even much smaller than smoke particles that pass straight through most masks.

HOW TO STAY HEALTHY and reduce catching or the effects of a coronavirus.
DIET! Your body is a complex organism that relies upon sufficient vitamins and minerals consumed to keep it working in tip top efficiency and fight against germs and viruses. Unfortunately the food we eat lacks many of these either by way of our poor dietary consumption of processed foods or even with so called organic produce, over farming has depleted the soil of its natural minerals and now relies solely upon man made synthetic fertilisers.
To overcome this, even if your meals are healthy, you need to take supplementary minerals and vitamins daily. Possibly the three most important are Zinc, D and C vitamins. Zinc is an absolute wonder at strengthening your immune system and without it, you would be ill more than enough. So ensure your mineral supplement contains Zinc.

**ABOUT SWINE FLU **

Influenza is caused by a virus infection of the respiratory tract. Influenza is a very contagious infection and can easily take the form of a pandemic. You are mostly like to catch this infection from an infected person who is traveling with you or is working with you or an infected family member. The influenza viruses enter the body through the mucous membranes in the mouth, eyes, or nose.

Influenza occurs due to flu viruses. There are mainly three types of flu viruses – type A, type B and type C. The viruses change constantly and different strains circulate around the world every year. Types A and B are the most severe. The influenza viruses are well known to mutate over time. Type C either causes a very mild illness, or has no symptoms at all. It does not cause epidemics and does not have the severe public health impact like influenza types A and B.

The influenza viruses spread from person to person through droplets produced while coughing or sneezing. Influenza viruses can also be transmitted by indirect contact by touching a contaminated object or surface and then touching your own mouth, eyes, or nose before washing your hands.

Influenza Symptoms

Influenza, also called “flu” crops mostly in winter between October and March. The symptoms of influenza often include:

  • Fever – it is usually continuous and may be lower in older adults than in children and young people
  • Muscle pain and body aches – it is often severe, usually in the arms, back and legs
  • Headache – severe pain in forehead
  • Loss of appetite – this occurs due to a feeling of illness or fatigue
  • Dry cough, sore throat or runny nose – these symptoms are more evident when the fever goes away

Other symptoms are usually more severe, when fever is high. Symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhoea are not related to influenza. Please visit your doctor if you experience any of the above symptoms.

Treatment

There are certain medications that fight the influenza viruses and are called antiviral medicines. They do not have the ability to cure the virus but may reduce the severity and the symptoms of influenza by stopping the multiplication of the influenza viruses.

Other effective treatments can reduce the duration of the suffering caused by the flu and improve your health. Consult a doctor within two days of seeing signs and symptoms of influenza. A prescription treatment called Tamiflu for influenza is very effective. This treatment is used for prevention as well as treatment of influenza and has shown promising results in clinical trials. Tamiflu also eases flu symptoms and hence gives relief from the illness.

You should consult your doctor before starting a prescription course for treating influenza as other conditions such as common cold may also have similar symptoms. Please read all available online as well as offline information about the medications. Our pharmacies shall dispense medication after it has been prescribed by our doctors and re-ensured by our pharmacies.

The Threat from Bird Flu

Mutations in avian flu could result in rapid spread of new epidemics, with large numbers of deaths.

The World Health Organisation has warned repeatedly of the risks to global health from new mutant viruses - of which HIV, SARS virus and Bird Flu virus are just three of many examples we have seen.

Just one of these is Bird Flu - caused by virus H5N1. In mid April 2005 the Viet Nam Ministry of Health reported to WHO that 41 cases from 18 cities and provinces had been detected in since mid-December 2004. Of these cases, 16 had died and six remained under treatment.

Our world is very open to attack by Bird Flu viruses because we still have no antiviral drugs that are as effective as penicillin and other antibiotics against bacteria.

Bird Flu H5N1 viruses

The fact is that 3 billion people live in areas with low health budgets and poorly developed health care systems. A Bird Flu pandemic could sweep around the entire globe in a few weeks or months.

Many viruses are unstable and change all the time. Every time a new person or animal is infected, there is a chance of another mutation. Viruses also combine in unpredictable ways if a cell is infected with more than one virus type. The cell becomes confused about which virus it is making, and elements of both viruses get muddled up to create a new hybrid.

Bird Flu Information
The following is from our findings in the previous coronavirus pandemics of 2003 / 2004 but most of it still holds true and a solid indication of what could come in 2023/ 2024 onwards.

The H5N1 threat to human health. Based on historical patterns, influenza pandemics can be expected to occur, on average, three to four times each century when new virus subtypes emerge and are readily transmitted from person to person. However, the occurrence of influenza pandemics is unpredictable. In the 20th century, the great influenza pandemic of 1918 / 1919, which caused an estimated 40 to 50 million deaths worldwide, was followed by pandemics in 1957 / 1958 and 1968 /1969.

Avian influenza (Bird Flu) is an infectious disease of birds caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. Highly pathogenic avian influenza, such as that seen in H5N1 is characterized by sudden onset, severe illness, and rapid death, with a mortality that can approach 100%. H5N1 is of particular concern and it is widely held that H5N1 will be cause of the next human pandemic. H5N1 mutates rapidly and has a documented propensity to acquire genes from viruses infecting other animal species. Infected birds excrete the virus for at least 10 days, orally and in faeces, thus facilitating further spread at live poultry markets and by migratory birds. Apart from being highly contagious, avian influenza viruses are readily transmitted from farm to farm by mechanical means, such as by contaminated equipment, vehicles, feed, cages, or clothing. Highly pathogenic viruses can survive for long periods in the environment, especially when temperatures are low.

The epidemic of highly pathogenic avian influenza caused by H5N1, which began in mid-December 2003 in the Republic of Korea and is now being seen in other Asian countries, is therefore of particular public health concern. H5N1 variants demonstrated a capacity to directly infect humans in 1997, and have done so again in Vietnam and Thailand. The spread of infection in birds increases the opportunities for direct infection of humans. If more humans become infected over time, the likelihood also increases that humans, if concurrently infected with human and avian influenza strains, could serve as the ?mixing vessel? for the emergence of a novel subtype with sufficient human genes to be easily transmitted from person to person. Such an event would mark the start of an influenza pandemic.

The current strategy is to minimize the global public health risks that could arise from large outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in birds. An immediate priority is to halt further spread of epidemics in poultry populations. This strategy works to reduce opportunities for human exposure to the virus. It is also important to protect persons at high risk of exposure to infected poultry, with anti-influenza medications, can reduce the likelihood of co-infection of humans with avian and influenza strains, and thus reduce the risk that genes will be exchanged. To this end, our focus is to develop technologies and therapeutics that will achieve these important objectives.

Avian Influenza?Facts

Influenza A viruses are found in many different animals, and usually specific to certain species, except for birds which are hosts to all subtypes of influenza A.

Influenza A viruses normally seen in one species sometimes can cross over and cause severe illness in another species.

Most cases of avian influenza infection in humans are thought to have resulted from contact with infected poultry or contaminated surfaces.

Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza A (H5N1) occurred among poultry in 8 countries in Asia (Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Lao, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam ) during late 2003 and early 2004. At that time, more than 100 million birds either died from the disease or were culled.

The avian influenza A (H5N1) epizootic outbreak in Asia is not expected to diminish significantly in the short term. It is likely that H5N1 infection among birds has become endemic to the region and that human infections will continue to occur.

If these H5N1 viruses gain the ability for efficient and sustained transmission between humans, there is little preexisting natural immunity to H5N1 in the human population, and an influenza pandemic could result, with high rates of illness, social disruption, economic loss and death.

The World Health Organization estimates that an influenza pandemic involving H5N1 will most likely result in billions of people infected and 100 million deaths.
